Cnr-Spin takes part also this year to the twenty-first edition of the Genoa Science Festival with two events involving researchers of the institute, Valeria Braccini and Luca Pellegrino:

L'edizione 2023 della Notte Europea dei Ricercatori, svolta in parallelo in ben 26 paesi, ha visto una crescente concentrazione di attività durante la seconda parte del mese di settembre, con un culmine nella data principale di Venerdì 29. Nel contesto della vasta partecipazione della comunità del CNR all'evento, i ricercatori dell'Istituto SPIN hanno preso parte a numerose iniziative che hanno avuto luogo, in particolare, nei territori dove sono presenti le proprie sedi.

The Department of Physics of the University of Salerno (Prof. Antonio Di Bartolomeo, General Chair) and the Institute SPIN-CNR (Dr Filippo Giubileo and Dr Nadia Martucciello, Co-Chairs) are the organizers of the IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference (NMDC) 2023.

The National Festival “Primi d’Italia” was held on September 28-October 1, 2023, in Foligno. In its frameworks, Andrey Varlamov (CNR-SPIN) delivered the talk “Macaroni, spaghetti, and physics”, which represents a part of his long-standing popular science activity “Culinary Universe”.

Il Progetto "Good Vibrations" - Energia sostenibile per l'istruzione, nato dalla collaborazione tra l'Istituto Comprensivo "Cornigliano" di Genova e CNR SPIN, è stato selezionato per la fase finale di Science on Stage Europe che si terrà in Finlandia nella prossima estate.

CNR-SPIN has been awarded a prestigious project in the framework of the HORIZON-EIC-2022-PATHFINDERCHALLENGES call.

In occasione del Centenario del CNR, Alessandro Stroppa, Dirigente di Ricerca dell’Istituto SPIN, propone una settimana di eventi divulgativi che vedrà lo svolgimento, ogni giorno, di uno specifico laboratorio didattico, della durata di 90 minuti circa, dedicato a studenti di scuola primaria. Nelle diverse giornate, ogni laboratorio verrà programmato in più turni, con la presenza di 25 allievi per volta, in modo da consentire la partecipazione a diverse classi e istituti.

La Presidente del CNR, Maria Chiara Carrozza, è intervenuta alla cerimonia inaugurale del 109° Congresso Nazionale Società Italiana di Fisica (SIF), svolto presso l’Università di Salerno. In tale occasione, la Presidente ha incontrato il Direttore dell’Istituto SPIN ed i ricercatori della sede Secondaria di Salerno.

The scientific journal Nano Letters chooses for its September cover a research by the CNR SPIN Institute published in the article Nano Lett. 2023, 23, 17, 7782–7789.

As for the 1^st Call , the evaluation process of 2^nd Call for the 2022 “Research Project of National Interest (PRIN)”, being directly related to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), recognized the capability of the SPIN researchers to present innovative proposals. Indeed, seven projects having a SPIN researcher as Principal Investigator were approved, while, in other two funded proposals, SPIN researchers are involved in a CNR UNIT (with a leading role in one case).
