Since its establishment, SPIN has been committed to organize outreach activities aimed at a general audience with the goal to improve the understanding of its main research themes and their potential impact on the development of new technologies.
In the various regions where the SPIN Units are located and often in strong collaboration with other organizations, the Institute’s researchers promote various outreach initiatives including exhibitions, interactive workshops, round tables, etc, organized also as part of major events such as the Genoa Science Festival.
Moreover, SPIN is involved in projects developed for the European Research’s Night and in other local events (Futuro Remoto, Science Street, etc). In the Campania region, SPIN is currently a member of the CNR’s Campania Outreach Network (CREO).
This section of our website and the included content are mainly aimed at sharing information about the SPIN efforts in the public engagement field. Specifically:
“OUTREACH EVENTS”: a selection of the news published in the SPIN website which specifically deal with the organization of outreach events. | |
“SPIN AROUND SCIENCE”: educational pages which, being related to some of the main SPIN research topics, are specifically conceived for a general audience. |
To further support and coordinate the SPIN initiatives in this field, the Outreach & Dissemination group is currently active. This group also plans and develops proper actions aimed at enhancing SPIN's visibility, tailored to different target audiences.
