Workshop “Electronic Correlations, Emergent Phenomena, and Quantum Materials”

The Institute SPIN-CNR (Italy) together with the Department of Physics of the University of Salerno (Italy), the Flatiron, a division of the Simons Foundation (NY, USA), the University of Würzburg (Germany), and the Technische Universität Wien (Austria), is organizing the Workshop “Electronic Correlations, Emergent Phenomena, and Quantum Materials” -Lectiones Amalfitanae- which will be held in Amalfi from April 10 (Sun) to April 13 (Wed), 2022.

The Workshop will be run in a traditional format with participants attending only in presence.

The scientific goal of the Lectiones Amalfitanae is to discuss the recent and most advanced theoretical developments in the field of electronic correlations, emergent phenomena and quantum materials. In particular, we will have sessions on many body theory and computational approaches, modern aspects of Xtronics (X=spin, orbit, valley, twist, oxi, …), novel superconductors, topological materials, driven systems and many-body localization. The focus is on the advancement in theoretical approaches and materials design strategies and how one can contribute in tackling present experimental and technological challenges in functional materials with the aim of providing a perspective on the ways-to-go towards new concepts, effects and materials with an impact particularly in the area of oxide spintronics, spin-orbitronics, two-dimensional (2D) electronics, topotronics, etc..
