In the framework of Applied Superconductivity in Italy 2024, several project leaders are invited to present the activities taking place in Italy to the IEEE Council of Superconductivity.The CSC Italy Chapter Chair in University Roma Tre at Department of Industrial, Electronic and Mechanical and Engineering on 28 May 2024 organizes the event.
The main topics are Large scale, Infrastructures, Superconducting Quantum Technologies, Materials and RF.
All the Italian National Research Institutions involved in Applied Superconductivity are welcome to present latest projects and activities, as well as outreach, editorial, conference organizations as well.
Alessandro Leveratto, Andrea Malagoli and Gaia Grimaldi will present the main activities within the CNR-SPIN Research Area of Superconductors and Innovative materials for Energy and Environment on the fabrication and characterization of HTS materials, with a focus on the research theme of Superconductors towards Energy Production, Transport and Storage, and High Magnetic Fields. In their interventions, in particular, CNR-SPIN researchers will deal with the progress made on Thallium-1223 films, the Powder In Tube superconducting cables for high field applications, the understanding of quench mechanisms in superconductors relevant for fusion magnets.
