New Coordinators for the SPIN Research Areas

The SPIN Institute Council has selected the coordinators for the three SPIN research Areas. The new coordinators are:

Valeria Braccini for “Superconductors and Innovative materials for Energy and Environment”

Nicola Manca for “Functional and Complex Materials for Innovative Electronics and Sensing”

Marco Salluzzo for “Quantum Science and Technologies”

The selection concludes a long process that included:

  • Identifying the new SPIN research Areas, based on the results of a poll that involved the whole SPIN community;
  • Opening a call to foster the application of candidates for the role of Area coordinator;
  • Selection of the best candidate for each Area, by the SPIN Council, based on a well-defined evaluation grid.

A document aimed at clarifying at best the nature of the Coordinators’ mandate is currently being developed.

Next steps of the SPIN scientific reorganization and of the upgrade of our Scientific Mission will include the identification, for each Area, of a set of sub-areas, such to properly map the expected SPIN scientific activity for next years.
