RESEARCH INTERESTS

Superconductivity, Oxide materials, Interfaces, Scottky Januctions, Surface Science

Characterization by Scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) and Atomic Force Microscopy of surfaces of Superconducting materials (bulks and thin films) and their parent compounds (nano-scale morphology and electronic properties and growth mechanisms)

Characterization by STM/BEEM (Ballistic electron emission microscopy) of  Schottky junction buried interfaces (functional semiconducting oxide, organic semiconductors and conventional semiconductors, nano-scale transport and macroscopic transport measurement)

Experience with standard surface science techniques for the morphological, chemical  and structural characterization of surfaces under ultra-high-vacuum conditions (AES, LEED,TPD, SPA-LEED, XPS, STM, AFM, IR, EELS). Experience on the characterization of the growth mechanisms of thin films and coatings (obtained by physical vapor deposition and pulsed laser deposition) through scanning probe microscopy techniques (AFM, STM). Advanced knowledge on the development and application of Supersonic Molecular Beam technique and King and Wells method to the study of the gas-surface interaction. Experience at synchrotron facilities (BESSY II (Germany) and ELETTRA (Italy)).

PARTICIPATION TO NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS (last 5 years)

2015-2017, PROGETTO PREMIALE INFN-CNR “EOS - Elettronica Organica per Strumentazione Innovativa di Ricerca”
2011-2014, FP7-NMP-2011-EU-Japan Collaborative Project “IRON-SEA: Establishing the basic science and technology for Iron-based Superconducting Electronics Applications”
