Fabio Chiarella received his Master degree in Physics cum laude and the PhD in Innovative Technologies for Materials, Sensors and Imaging in 2005 at the University of Napoli Federico II in collaboration with STMicroelectronics. Through various scientific experiences he has been able to mature a broad vision of the technical, technological and scientific issues related to the physics of matter and to the general problems concerning electronic devices based on innovative materials. His early research activities are mainly focused on the synthesis of thin films mainly by physical vapor deposition techniques (moleculr beam and supersonic molecular beam for organic materials) for the realization of electronic and optoelectronic devices such as field-effect transistors and photovoltaic solar cells. In this framework, he also works on the morphological-structural characterization and the electrical transport properties study of films and devices based on organic semiconductors and perovskite-based organic-inorganic hybrid compounds also through scanning-probe-microscopy advanced techniques.
