The High-Performance Computing-Europa3 program has been recently concluded. Its main goals were to offer access to world-class HPC systems for academic and industrial researchers; scientific collaboration with host researchers in any field; technical support by the HPC centers; travel and living expenses reimbursed.
Freestanding oxide membranes constitute an intriguing material platform for new functionalities and allow integration of oxide electronics with technologically important platforms such as silicon, flexible polyethylene terephthalate, and biocompatible polymide.
In 2020, a research team, composed by CNR-SPIN of Naples, CNR-IMM of Catania, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen and the Technical University of Denmark, reported a method to fabricate freestanding conducting LaAlO3/SrTiO3 (LAO/STO) membranes by spalling of strained heterostructures.
A step forward was taken on the road towards understanding new effects for the development of innovative technologies thanks to a fruitful collaboration between the SPIN-CNR Institute, the Department of Physics of the University of Salerno and the NANO-CNR Institute of Pisa.
Nel pomeriggio di Venerdì 17 Giugno (inizio ore 14), presso il Salone di Rappresentanza di Villa Cambiaso a Genova, avrà luogo il convegno dal titolo “Asimmetrie di genere nelle STEM”.
Riprendendo l’esperienza inaugurata nel biennio 2018-2019, anche per l’anno scolastico in corso, l’Istituto SPIN presso l’Unità di Napoli ha attivato un PCTO (Percorso per le Competenze Trasversali e l’Orientamento) che ha coinvolto, in questo caso, la classe III E del Liceo Evangelista Torricelli di Somma Vesuviana.
Con una serie di incontri, previsti tra l'11 e il 13 Aprile, che vedranno coinvolti giovani studenti, scienziati e decisori politici (si veda l’immagine di copertina per il programma dettagliato), stanno per essere inaugurate le attività del Progetto Eduambiente.
The Institute SPIN-CNR (Italy) together with the Department of Physics of the University of Salerno (Italy), the Flatiron, a division of the Simons Foundation (NY, USA), the University of Würzburg (Germany), and the Technische Universität Wien (Austria), is organizing the Workshop “Electronic Correlations, Emergent Phenomena, and Quantum Materials” -Lectiones Amalfitanae- which will be held in Amalfi from April 10 (Sun) to April 13 (Wed), 2022.
Anche SPIN partecipa alle “Italian Quantum Weeks” che si svolgeranno in 17 città italiane, con eventi per le scuole e il grande pubblico.
Da venerdì 1 a giovedì 21 aprile 2022, presso la Biblioteca Universitaria di Genova, sarà possibile visitare la mostra interattiva "Colori e Immagini della Scienza", che vedrà esposte le 88 opere realizzate dagli studenti delle scuole superiori partecipanti alla sezione di Genova del progetto "Art & Science across Italy".
The technology “Low-power magnetometer for improved sensors integration in future vehicles”, developed by CNR-SPIN and CNR-IFN in the framework of the EU FET-Open OXiNEMS project, was presented in the macro area “Future Mobility” for the final session of the “Intellectual Property Award 2021” held at Expo Dubai 2020, the competition promoted by the Directorate General for the protection of industrial property - Italian Patent and Trademark Office of the Ministry of Economic Development (Mise) - in collaboration with Netval, aimed at promoting and enhancing the innovation and economic growth of Italy.
